Swimming faster with breathing techniques, by Trever Grey. Trever received his Bachelors of Science in Science & Nutrition and went on get his Masters in Integrative Human Physiology. Trever recently published his research on the impact of swim breathing techniques before swimming a race.
His study consisted of three control groups to study swim breathing techniques: deep breathing for 30 seconds before a swim race, deep breathing for 2 minutes, and no deep breathing at all. Olympic swimming medalist Gary Hall Sr. and Trever discuss the results and the swimming races in which these swim breathing techniques methods should be used. They dive into the physiological impacts hyperventilation has on your body and even when it can decrease your swimming performance.
