Breaststroke Main Set To build a faster breaststroke, swimmers need to always focus on building a stronger kick. From 60-80% of the total velocity of the breaststroker comes from the kick, not the pull. In addition, the new Power breaststroke technique, like that used by Adam Peaty and Lilly King, requires having an extremely fast kicking cycle time.
