Train Like a Champion. Two Days That Change Your Stroke.
Olympic expertise meets cutting-edge science. Two days dedicated entirely to explosive starts, fast underwater speed, and efficient, powerful turns. Open to competitive swimmers aged 8 and up who can handle four hours of training a day across the two camp days. Parents follow every session on a headset while their swimmer trains in the water.
After working with thousands of swimmers around the world, we’ve found that starts and turns are the most overlooked, yet most decisive, elements of racing. In many races, the difference between first and fifth place comes down to what happens off the blocks and off the walls. That’s why we created our Two-Day Starts & Turns Performance Camp – an immersive, high-performance experience dedicated entirely to explosive starts, fast underwater speed, and efficient, powerful turns.
Our methodology is built from decades of elite-level experience and collaboration with world-class athletes, including 54 Olympians and internationally recognized sprint specialists such as Mark Foster (UK), Roland Schoeman (South Africa), and Brad Tandy (South Africa). We’ve studied and refined the technical nuances of world-class starts and turns and integrated them into a structured system that athletes can immediately apply in competition.
Every concept is taught in a classroom setting and then reinforced immediately in the pool for hands-on application. Parents attend alongside their swimmer and follow each session through a headset, so the coaching carries home after camp ends.
Two full days, each dedicated to one half of the race: starts on Day 1, turns on Day 2. Built from decades of elite-level coaching experience, including work with 54 Olympians.
Block mechanics, reaction time, clean entries, high-velocity dolphin kick, breakout timing, backstroke starts, video analysis.
Freestyle flip turns, powerful push-offs, breakout timing, wall approach, open turns, backstroke flip turns, race simulation.
Day-by-day session times. Full camp and single-session tickets are booked against these blocks.
*Times are subject to slight change (30 minutes to 1 hour), depending on pool lane allocation. Video Analysis, TRC Sensors Testing & College Placement are paid add-ons. Specific days and time slots will be assigned to swimmers on the first day of camp.
To ensure the highest quality training environment and maximize learning during each session, swimmers are expected to arrive with all required equipment prepared before each workout.
All recommended items above, packed in a TRC Mesh Bag with your TRC Bag Tag.
Only missing a few items? Buy them individually from our online shop.
All equipment is available for purchase directly through The Race Club. Once registered, let us know if you plan to purchase individual equipment or the full bag so everything is ready at camp start.
The camp is open to competitive swimmers aged 8 and up, with no upper age limit. Campers need to be able to handle four hours of training a day across the two camp days. We do not accept 6 and 7 year olds, and an 8 year old who is not yet a strong swimmer is not a fit.
Swimmers should be comfortable swimming all four strokes independently.
Accommodation is not included. Camp runs at William A. Wagner Aquatic Center, Oceanside, CA. The Race Club partners with the local Courtyard Hotel, within walking distance of Wagner Aquatics, to provide discounted rates. Our main 4-day swim camp: stroke efficiency, starts and turns, underwater speed, and race-strategy coaching for swimmers at every level, beginner to competitive.
Same training philosophy and curriculum as our April 10–11 camp: a two-day performance camp dedicated entirely to explosive starts, fast underwater speed, and efficient, powerful turns – the two most decisive, most overlooked elements of racing. Built for competitive swimmers who want to sharpen the details that win races.
Each day includes structured morning and afternoon sessions combining education, technical drills, and performance training. Athletes will focus on all strokes, starts, and turns while improving freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly technique. We recommend that every camper attends all four days.
Stroke mechanics, breathing rhythm, mobility & alignment testing.
Performance nutrition, underwater velocity, backstroke precision.
Dryland strength, breaststroke timing, explosive start mechanics.
Butterfly rhythm, race-day mindset, individual races.
