The Propulsion/Drag Meter (PDM) is our Race Club technology that measures frontal drag and propulsion. The swimmer’s speed is the net result of both of these forces. Without PDM technology, one cannot determine if the swimmer’s speed is lacking from insufficient propulsion or excessive frontal drag, or both. The PDM synchronized to your video will measure propulsion at every .04 seconds in your stroke cycle. By matching your propulsion video with a drag video of similar speed and stroke rate, we can calculate your active frontal drag; the drag while you are swimming. Comparisons of your propulsion and active drag forces are made to Olympic athletes.
