Kasia Wilk Wasick – Starts Introduction

Kasia Wilk Wasick is the fastest female Polish swimmer in history and is going for her 5th Olympic Games in Paris 2024.  She recently swam her lifetime best in the 50 freestyle and is looking to medal at the Olympic Games in Paris next year.  She has a great chance of doing so and came to us recently to work on her swimming start.  We had Kasia do her normal start and noticed some things we could improve on.  While she is quick off the blocks she uses a ‘weight forward’ start and doesn’t utilize the 3 coupling motions of the start effectively.  The three coupling motions are; head lift, arm swing and leg kick.  We showed her Brad Tandy who utilizes all three coupling motions outstandingly and discussed how we would work on each component to give her a much faster swimming start.  In this introduction video we examine Kasia’s old start and compare to Brad’s start that we will teach her in this series.
