    Swimmers can definitely train too much and also develop a lot of bad technique habits. Swimming more is not always better. Quality, in today’s elite training environment, is more important than quantity. Make sure that your training methods are consistent with your events.

    I’ll add to Gary’s thoughts – make sure you’re taking a day off a week as well.  You must give your body time to recover from the training you’re doing throughout the week.

    Absolutely, it’s important to have a balance so that swimming is fun and exciting this often means you need to take time off!
